How to install your single roller blinds

Organise your blinds
Chain Drive
Motors

Organise your blinds

Follow these steps for an easy installation:

  • Each of your blinds will have a sticker on them detailing the Room name.
  • Each of your blinds will have a sticker on them detailing the Room name.
  • Starting with the first blind, remove the packaging carefully. Do not use anything sharp to open your packaging as you may damage the blind. Make sure you lay the blind down on a clean surface. If your blind is a white colour, it is handy to wear white cotton gloves whilst installing to avoid getting any marks on the fabric.
  • Chain Drive - open the attached bag containing the brackets, screws, ball stops and child safety cleat
  • Motor - packaged at the end of your blinds will be the corresponding brackets. There will be a separate box containing any motor accessories (Wifi Hub, Chargers etc) - check your packaging carefully to ensure you don’t throw this box out with the rubbish.
  • The male bracket is used for the chain control side of the blind. The female bracket is used on the neutral or non-control end.

How to Install - Chain Drive

Follow these steps for an easy installation:

  1. Hold the brackets to the place on your window frame where they are to be fixed and with a grey pencil mark where the screws will go.
  2. Pre-drill the bracket holes if required. This will avoid splitting your timber, particularly if you have an older style house.
  3. Now using your cordless screwdriver, fix the brackets into the window recess or architraves
  4. Before inserting the blind into the bracket – make sure the chain is hanging evenly from both sides and the flat surface is facing towards the top.
  5. Install your blind into the male bracket first which is also the chain end.
  6. Hold the chain end in position and move to the other end of the blind. Guide the spring-loaded pin into the track of the female bracket until it clicks into position.
  7. Once the blind is installed it should have 1.5 mm - 2mm movement from left to right between the brackets (the ‘float’). If there is no float, your blind will not run smoothly – so adjust your brackets accordingly for secure fixing.
  8. Alternatively, you can adjust the pin end for more reach if required.
  9. Using the chain drive, lower your blind to the bottom of your window frame and then install your stop ball on the chain at the point just before it enters the chain drive. This will ensure that your blind is not over rolled when lowering.
  10. For outside mounted blinds, slide your bracket covers over the open side of each of your brackets.
  11. Install your safety cleat out of the reach of children.
  12. Your blind is now fully installed.

How to Install - Motor

Follow these steps for an easy installation:

  1. Hold the brackets to the place on your window frame where they are to be fixed and with a grey pencil mark where the screws will go.
  2. Pre-drill the bracket holes if required. This will avoid splitting your timber, particularly if you have an older style house.
  3. Now using your cordless screwdriver and the 4 screws, fix the brackets into the window recess or architraves.
  4. Before inserting the blind into the bracket – make sure the P1 button is facing the front - you will need to access and push this button when you pair your motor to the remote.
  5. Have another person assist you when placing the roller blind into the brackets - keep the blind level. Do not to tip the blind down at the motor end - it may slip out and become damaged.
  6. Ensure you unroll the fabric down (approx 20cm) before you install so that when you are testing the up or down direction of the motor you have room for the roller blind to go up if required.
  7. Install your blind into the male bracket first which is also the motor end.
  8. Hold the motor end in position and move to the other end of the blind. Guide the spring-loaded pin into the track of the female bracket until it clicks into position.
  9. The blinds should never be ‘forced’ into the brackets. If you have measured correctly, the blind will simply click into position.
  10. Once the blind is installed it should have 1.5 mm - 2mm movement from left to right between the brackets (the ‘float’). If there is no float, your blind will not run smoothly – so adjust your brackets accordingly for secure fixing.
  11. Alternatively, you can adjust the pin end for more reach if required.
  12. Your blind is now fully installed.
